What is a "Doula" and why did I become one? 

A doula is a professionally trained, support specialist who provides emotional and physical support.  My doula focus areas are in pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. As a birth and postpartum doula, I offer direct emotional and physical support to mamas. I'm here to help educate mothers about all things pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum so that they can be informed and feel empowered to make important decisions about their birth and ultimately birth their baby on their terms!  

Most importantly, I became a doula for mothers! Us moms need someone to hold us and care for us during these vulerable, life-changing events of pregnancy and childbirth. Some mothers go through pregancy and birth feeling alone, unprepared, and unheard. Some mothers don't feel like they're in control and instead, feel like pregnancy is something that is happening to them. I'm here to change that. We're going to work together during your journey through pregnancy  to make sure you have all of the information and support that you need. 

Remember: Every woman and each pregnancy is different so, my work will be tailored to you, mama.
